The Florida Association for Media in Education has a young adult reading program for students in grades 9-12, Florida Teens Read. The mission of the program is to encourage Florida teens to read enjoyable, quality literature that will stimulate imagination, awaken curiosity, expand horizons, enhance verbal fluency, and foster critical thinking and a lifelong love for reading and learning.

Boys' Basketball meeting today at 2:30 in the gym. Do not be late!

Bryan-Alan will be on campus September 9th during school to take Senior pictures.
Sign ups will be during lunches today through Friday.


Chess Club meets today in Room 1203.
Volunteers will be available to assist those who are not sure of their playing skills.


Friendly reminder: Home football games you are not allowed to switch sides.
You must stay on one side during the game.


Key Club meets today in in room 31221 after school. It is a great way to earn service hours.

Polk District College Fair-September 7th 6:00-8:00 pm
Jenkins Field House at Florida Southern College, Lakeland.
Numerous colleges and universities will be on site to provide information to those interested.

Senior Boys wishing to sign up for Dream Guy…
you may do so in the Main Office all this week.

Friday is Spirit Day. Wear your spirit colors (white, silver, Thunder blue and black)as we prepare the game against WHHS. iMAG will be going around classes and lunches looking for the most spirited partcipant.


Attention Freshmen: If you are interested in running for Student Government Class Office, there is a very important meeting Tuesday, September 7th right after school in Room 2208

Student Council Meeting: A Big Meeting, required…Tuesday, September 7th right after school.

Sporting Events today: Swimming at home and Volleyball at home Good luck to our athletes

DATE classes sign ups resume September 13th. Sign up will be held in the lunch room. Class is for students desiring to get their learners' permit. Classes start October 4th

Juniors and Seniors who have not taken the SAT or Act need to register now to take those tests. Information is on the school web site under Colleges and Careers
