Number One Staff, Students, Parents and Community:

Thank you for a wonderful start to the 2010-11 school term. We ended our first full week of school with an enrollment of 1925 students ! I want to personally thank everyone for an absolutely fantastic start. Students are in classes and working every day, every period.

The month of September ends with our Homecoming Celebration and annual dance. We always have a good time celebrating the events at Lake Region High School. The week of September 26-October 1st is Homecoming Week. Please check the web page for additional information as we near that week.

We excited about plans to develop a charter academy within our school for the 2011-12 school term. The Lake Region High School Step Up Charter Academy will be designed to provide specialized instruction of student in need of intensive instruction on the 9th grade level in order to ensure graduation. We are currently in the application/approval process. We will keep you posted as we progress.

We are also pleased to announce specialized intensive instruction incorporating higher level thinking skills in the Math and Language Arts Department utilizing the Spring Board materials from the College Board. You will notice many different innovations taking place at Lake Region.

Our fall athletic programs are in full swing. Our fine arts departments are working preparing for concerts and exhibitions. Bottom line….we are very busy at Lake Region.
