Black and Blue Football Game

The annual Black and Blue Football game will be held This Friday, May 18th beginning art 7:00pm. Lake Region Football players together with the Booster Club will be selling BBQ meals to support the upcoming football season. Price for the meal is $10.00 which includes admission to the game. See any player or Coach Reynolds to order your meal. Meals will be delivered or you can pick them up at the football field. Come out and support your 2012 Thunder Football team.

South Pacific Production Auditions
 
Lake Region is going to be putting on a production of South Pacific next school year. Auditions will be August 27-31.
Students must supply music and scores for their audition piece.
They must also prepare a monologue.

Volunteers for Summer Camps Needed

iBrick Academy Lego RoboCamps Counselors Program, is looking for volunteers for their first Legoland summer camp.

The City of Winter Haven is looking for volunteers to work the 2012 Summer Camp. The camp runs from June 14—August 10.  Interested students come see Mrs. Rivera in room 2207 for more information.

Sally Abernethy scholarship is for $1500 each year for 4 years (total-$6000).  It is only for LRHS students and 2 will be awarded.  You must be a graduating senior with a GPA between 2.0 and 3.2.  You must have valid plans to attend college or vocational school.  You must exhibit qualities of good citizenship and good character.
 
Frank and Tillie Poole scholarship is for $1500 each year for 4 years (total-$6000).  It is only for LRHS students and 2 will be awarded.  You must be a graduating senior with a minimum GPA of 2.0.  You must indicate a valid intent to become a minister or Christian lay worker.  You will be required to sign a form indicating that you will pursue an education for the purposes of entering the ministry or becoming a Christian lay worker.

The Lake Region Step Up Academy is a new charter school that will open in August 2012 on the Lake Region High School campus designed to address the specific needs of those students who have not experienced academic success or who have dropped out of the traditional high school.
