I am Lake Region’s Band Director and Music Department Head. As band director I manage the winds, percussion, and keyboard programs as well as direct the wind ensemble, jazz ensemble and the award winning Sound of Thunder Marching Band. I teach Band 1-6 Honors, Jazz Ens I-IV Honors, AP Music Theory, and Keyboard I-IV Honors. Music has always been a great influence on my life. My band and chorus directors from high school inspired me to continue studying music at the college level and to pursue this beautiful art form as a career. I am quite literally “living the dream” when I come to Lake Region every day. I graduated high school from McKeel Academy of Technology then received an Associates in Arts degree from Polk State College. I continued on to complete my Bachelors in Music Education from Florida Southern College. In addition to my responsibilities at LRHS I am actively involved in Theatre Winter Haven and teach as Adjunct Professor of Saxophone at Polk State College. I also maintain a private studio at Carlton Music Center in Winter Haven. I am an active member of the National Association for Music Education, the Florida Music Education Association, the Florida Bandmasters Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and the North American Saxophone Alliance.
